Is pressure washing safe for my home?

Yes, when the pressure is matched to the surface. Cladding, paintwork and older joinery get a low-pressure soft wash with a treatment that does the work chemically. High pressure is saved for concrete and other hard surfaces that can take it.

How much does house washing cost in Auckland?

It depends on the size of the house, how many storeys, how much of it has gone green and how easy it is to get around. Rather than guess, we quote a fixed price before we start, so the number you agree is the number you pay. Send the address and a couple of photos of the worst areas and most homes can be priced off that.

How often should I have my property washed?

Accepted Answer

Most homes are on a yearly cycle. Anything shaded, close to bush or on the south side tends to green up faster and can want doing more often. We will tell you honestly if it does not need doing yet.

Will the mould and lichen come back?

Accepted Answer

Eventually, because spores land on everything in an Auckland winter. The difference is the treatment kills what is growing rather than just blasting the top off it, so regrowth is a good deal slower than a plain water blast.

What surfaces do you clean?

House cladding, roofs and soffits, driveways, paths, patios and pool surrounds, timber and composite decking, plus commercial buildings, carparks and forecourts.

What cladding types can you wash?

Accepted Answer

Weatherboard, brick, plaster, cedar, vinyl and fibre cement all get washed regularly. Each takes a different pressure and a different dwell time on the treatment, which is the part that decides whether the paint and seals come through it fine.

Will high pressure damage exposed aggregate or older concrete?

It can, in the wrong hands. Exposed aggregate, tired concrete and older mortar get a lower pressure and a rotary surface cleaner rather than a narrow jet, which cleans evenly instead of cutting lines into the surface.

Will washing strip the stain or oil off my deck?

A hard blast will, which is exactly why decks get dialled right down. We clean the green film and the grime off without furring the grain. If the coating is already failing, washing will show that up, and we will tell you before we start rather than after.

Can you clean composite decking?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Composite wants low pressure and the right cleaner, since heat and a narrow jet can mark the board surface permanently.

Will you get oil stains out of the driveway?

Accepted Answer

Usually a lot lighter, sometimes gone. It depends how long the oil has been sitting and how porous the concrete is. Fresh spills come up well, and something that has soaked in over years will improve rather than vanish. We will give you a straight answer when we look at it.

Do you use bleach?

We use a treatment matched to the surface and the growth on it, applied at the right dilution and rinsed properly. Plants next to the work area get wet down first and rinsed after, which is the part that actually protects them.

Do I need to move cars, furniture or the barbecue?

Accepted Answer

Move anything you would rather not have wet, and we will shift the rest as we go. Cars are best parked off the area we are cleaning so they do not end up with overspray on them.

Do I need to be home during the service?

Accepted Answer

No. We need access to the exterior and an outdoor tap, and windows closed. Plenty of our work is done while people are out, and we will let you know when we are finished.

How soon can I re-stain or re-oil after a wash?

Accepted Answer

Give the timber a few clear days to dry right through, longer if the weather is against you. Coating over damp timber is the usual reason a new stain lifts early.

Do you work after hours on commercial sites?

Yes. Carparks, forecourts and building washes are regularly done outside trading hours so staff, tenants and customers are not walking through the work.
